2008 Along the Road

Painting Along the Road 2011

I am on my way to New Mexico and thought Id try to make a painting a day along the way.

Already this seems somewhat ridiculous.
My beginning point, I-95, more a corridor of hell than the heavens I search for.

I've done this each year after a winter of studio painting for many years. It seems a kind of "refreshment in nature" something I've said I thought the whole art world should do rather than going to more art fairs.
